Teyma Medioambiente delivered 32 galvanized metal containers at Conaprole’s Montevideo Industrial Park.

Teyma Medioambiente was awarded the Abbreviated Tender N° 19/10 of the Municipality of Rivera for the provision of 96 1,100 litre galvanized steel waste containers.

Within the framework of support to Objetivo Empleo Programme, belonging to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, 15 workers were incorporated to Caps’ staff.

Conaprole awarded Teyma Medioambiente the contract for the supply of 32 1,100 litre galvanized steel waste containers. These containers will be placed at Montevideo Industrial Park.

A new service is rendered since July 2010 within the framework of the Cap Contract. Same service, which arose as an innovation measure, consists of the mechanical sweeping of squares, esplanades and pedestrian streets in the city of Montevideo using a manual sweeping machine.

Last May 2nd Cap celebrated its first 6 years in charge of the Waste Collection and Urban Cleaning Services in the neighbourhoods of Tres Cruces, Parque Rodó, Cordón, Centro, Sur, Palermo and Ciudad Vieja.

Same as last year, 5 educational talks were given in April to third to sixth-grade primary school students at state and private schools located in the area covered by the company.

Close contact with the situation which affects the operation of schools located within the Cap’s servicing area, favored the placement of a larger number of public wastepaper baskets within the area of influence of these educational centers.

On November 18, at the Public Room of the Legislative Palace in Montevideo, Teyma was granted recognition for its Corporate Social responsibility initiatives, by Rodolfo Nin Novoa, vice president of Uruguay.

The Fundación Iberoamericana para la Gestión de la Calidad (Fundibeq) granted Teyma the 2009 Latin American Quality Award. Following the trends observed at the most modern cities around the world, Montevideo developed a differentiated waste collection system by setting up orange waste containers, so as to distinguish them from other containers used for humid waste collection.

Nine educational lectures were delivered to third to sixth grade students at public schools located within the company’s serviced area.
